That's the most disgusting product ever made. I didn't realize this was a commercial until I saw the polyshades.

This brought back memories of working with my dad, a furniture refinisher, when I was a young girl. His motto was always: Invest in good tools!

Thanks for sharing this video! ♥

Not bad instructions . But 5:45 looks very unprofessional (drippings ), so when you painting look at sides as well

Love this! Want to do it with some chairs I purchased at The Home Depot around 2007. You don't have to buy new; just paint old furniture, and then color-coordinate! Spray painting makes the job go much faster, too: http://bit.ly/2MPau3u

This infomercial brought to you by the good folks at Minwax. Let's put an acrylic coating on a natural shellac finish, yeah, that's a great idea.

Doesn't look very professional @ 5:46 with the finish that has overlapped onto the top edge of the drawer and @ 5:47- 5:48 there are several bumps or bubbles that appear on the front surface of the drawer. All and all not a great job.

This is awesome, because everyone on YT uses these sanding tools and seem to make things rather complicated. Question though, what about smells, does that cleaner take old stale smells away? I can't seem to get a smell out of an old piece.

My father was a wood expert and told me always dip brush first in apple juice then dry it. It makes the acid of the brush put on a better finish.

Great video! I really enjoyed the tutorial. However, one suggestion... Naptha is not safe to get on your hands or to breath. Please wear proper gloves and a full face mask with organic vapour filter. You too Ron :)

Ok lol Ron . I have owned and operated a Furniture refinishing shop in Texas for 35 years . I understand you are more of a DIY Kinda Guy , however and so therefore you are more of a teach me what I can do in my garage Kinda Guy . First off Naptha is terrible for your hands , hense your terrinle spots all over your hands and arms . ALWAYS USE GLOVES !Secondly your box store finishes are terrible ! Min Wax as you say Is a Poly finish , slow drying brush on finish . It is a plastic based finish which will yellow very quickly . On top of these flaws its a brushed on finish which never fails to leave brush strokes in the first to the last coat . Heres a suggestion , Strip the piece PERIOD . A proper Metholine Cloride strip will get rid of all the silicone / fisheyes . Sand the piece , stain it . Get a spray rig , not that expensive if you shop properly . Use a sanding sealer ! Shellac is soft and never dries good ! Stain it with a OIL STAIN ! Two coats of Lacquer and DONE ! Why go to All this other BS ? Hey Rob , come to my Shop and I will re educate you !

Oh this makes me so mad!!!!😡🤬
Why the bleep didn't I see this damn video before I tried to re finish my table table??? For heavens sake NOW I see it??? A year later??? Grrrrr!!!!! If you guys only knew how many times I tried and tried to restain that table top of mine and those stupid bubble things kept happening! It looked terrible! I thought that 2 in 1 stain stuff was absolute garbage. Now I find out I could have just put shellac on it first... ☹
DAMN IT!!!!!!

PS He is just showing off. I bet his sandpaper collection isn't REALLY that organized. Because if it is, that's just wrong! I would take all of his perfectly organized tabs and re arrange them so his 220 grit was listed under the 80 grit. WHAT??? I am the mean fat girl that HATES all those skinny pretty girls. If MY project isn't absolutely perfect like his, he has to suffer along with me. I don't care if he is trying to be nice and show me the correct way of doing it for the next time!!!!😝
